This policy explains how CertCLR (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use https://www.certclr.com and related services.

CertCLR provides certification exam practice materials. We collect only the information needed to run accounts, deliver practice and purchases, provide support, and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information. We are not affiliated with AWS, Microsoft, Google, CompTIA, Cisco, PMI, Anthropic, or any other certification vendor.

2. Information we collect

Account and profile

  • Email address, name (including full name when required for the pass guarantee), and password hash if you register with email
  • Profile details you choose to save (e.g. payout preferences for referrals)
  • Google sign-in data when you use Google authentication (email and basic profile fields provided by Google)

Practice and usage

  • Exam progress, practice sessions, scores, bookmarks, and settings (e.g. questions per page, instant reveal)
  • Pages visited, search queries, referral source, and coarse traffic attribution when you use the site
  • Support chat messages and related metadata when you contact us via live chat

Purchases and billing

  • Order history, exam purchased, amount, currency, payment status, and provider reference IDs
  • Guest checkout email when you buy without creating a password-based account
  • Coupon or referral codes applied at checkout

Payment card numbers, UPI details, and crypto wallet credentials are processed by our payment partners — we do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Pass guarantee and refunds

  • Refund requests, uploaded proof (e.g. failed exam report images), and verification links you submit
  • Audit records related to eligibility review

Marketing and email

  • Email address and optional exam interest when you subscribe to the daily question or marketing emails
  • Email open/engagement signals where supported by our email provider
  • Unsubscribe preferences

Technical and security

  • IP address, browser type, device information, and timestamps in server and security logs
  • Session identifiers and anti-abuse signals (e.g. CSRF tokens, rate limiting)

3. How we use your information

  • Provide practice exams, save progress, and unlock paid access after purchase
  • Process payments, send receipts, and manage refunds under our refund policy
  • Operate accounts, authentication, and customer support (including chat)
  • Send transactional email (receipts, login links, practice digests, refund updates)
  • Send optional marketing email (daily question, promotions) when you opt in — you may unsubscribe anytime
  • Run referral and coupon programs when enabled
  • Measure site usage and marketing performance (analytics tags, when configured)
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, scraping, and unauthorized redistribution of content
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of service

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and local storage for essential and optional purposes:

  • Essential: login sessions, CSRF protection, checkout state, referral attribution, theme preference
  • Functional: practice preferences, dismissible prompts, purchase deduplication in analytics
  • Analytics (optional): Google Analytics when configured by site settings
  • Advertising (optional): Meta Pixel when configured — may help measure ad campaigns

You can block cookies in your browser; some features (sign-in, checkout, saved progress) may not work without essential cookies.

5. How we share information

We share data only with service providers that help us operate CertCLR, under contracts or terms that require appropriate protection:

  • Payment processors — e.g. Stripe, Razorpay, NOWPayments (depending on checkout method)
  • Email delivery — to send transactional and marketing mail
  • Hosting and infrastructure — to run the website and store uploads
  • Analytics and advertising partners — when enabled (Google, Meta)
  • Authentication — Google when you choose Google sign-in

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition with notice where required.

6. Data retention and security

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Backup and log data may persist for a limited period after deletion.

We use industry-standard measures (HTTPS, access controls, hashed passwords, rate limits). No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Account: update profile details in Account where available
  • Email: unsubscribe via links in marketing mail or account settings
  • Access / deletion: contact us to request a copy or deletion of personal data, subject to legal retention needs
  • Marketing opt-out: we honor unsubscribe requests promptly

Depending on your location (e.g. EEA, UK, California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children

CertCLR is intended for users preparing for professional certification exams and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International users

We may process and store information in countries other than your own. By using the service, you understand your information may be transferred to facilities operated by us or our providers.

10. Third-party links

Our site may link to certification vendors, social networks, or payment pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of CertCLR after changes means you accept the updated policy.
